Sexual health education sessions for school students and unaccompanied minors
Adolescence, emotions and sexuality
Adolescence is a time of deep changes and great uncertainties, and adolescents’ vulnerabilities distinctly appear in the sphere of sexuality and emotions. In Italy, Sexually-Transmitted Infections are on the rise among 15-24 year-old youths and about one out of three adolescents has had comprehensive sexual encounters before turning 16. The World Health Organization recommends investing on adolescents’ sexual education, focusing also on the emotional aspects
of intimate relations, self-listening capacities and the importance of acknowledging and respecting partners under all circumstances. Taking up this recommendation, CCM organizes for school students and unaccompanied minors sexual health education sessions, helping them to acknowledge adolescence typical changes and to make safe, sensible and wise decisions, paying full respect to any intimate friends or partner.
